Cauldrons are a symbol of transformation and carry a long history. There is perhaps no greater icon to reference than Shakespeare's Macbeth with "toil and trouble" to evoke a sense of magic brewing and the weaving of fate. Collecting vintage cast-iron cauldrons has become a favourite activity as it brings history to life where the hearth of the home and cauldron shared a special bond.
Practical modern uses include: heat-tolerant vessel for burning resin incense or herbs with the use of charcoal disks, or for symbolic representation on altars or in the home.
This 5-inch ribbed cauldron offers an excellent size for navigating herbs and resins, or paper, during spell work. We also recommend using with sand as a base so that cone and stick incense can be extinguished safely should your time be limited. This is how we personally utilize the cauldron most often.
Recommended pairings: tongs for holding charcoal disks, and sand to offer a base for your cauldron. Sold separately.
